Dreams

Good Morrow Ladies,

Today is MLK National Day of Service. I am, admittingly, sitting on my couch. I feel sort of bad, but not really. I couldn't find any! But, I am contemplating on how to better engage my students for the year to come, how to make all that is happeing around them today, relevant in their lives, how to help them dream. I'm doing lesson plans. :) Also, I wanted to reach out to my Z Phi So Fit crew and talk about dreams.

Some of us have that dream. Granted it's rooted in various things. A dream pair of pants, a bikini, walking a flight of steps and not being winded, having stable numbers when you go to the doctor, being able to play with your children, the list can go on and on, so I won't. However, I have a dream too. Just to show that I do greatly respect the magnitude and unwavering respect that comes with that phrase, let me say, I have my dream. It could be grounded in my wedding, but it's not. I have a dream of staying healthy. It's one that I am totally in control of.

That is pivitol.

That is what turns our dreams into reality. When you know that you have control. Take that with a grain of salt though. Sometimes, we can't control everything. That's a dream of mine too. To let things happen when they can. Sometimes, you can move the pieces and place them as strategically as you want. But then the pieces move on their own, and you have to take the good with the bad. Yet, it's that perfect combination of desire, persiverience and faith that allow our dreams to come to fruition.

This MLK day, I want encourage you to reach for your dreams. It can be a very external day. Thinking about others and how you to be a great person to them. And you can be that, but make sure you are the best you. It's cliche'. It's overused, but it's true.

What dreams may come.
What happens to a dream defered?
Um...and other dream stuff.
